Rust, glorious rust... body(kit) shock

Stev make sure that all rust is cut out properly before the new panel is welded in. Plating over rust will only make the problem much worse.

Well it's been with the welder today - I've been a bit worried at having such a significant job done on it really. Called round earlier and much happier - the sill and arch are in place, and some of the inner sill has been replaced also. The bottom lip of the sill has also been replaced with new metal - as this isn't part of the repair section.

Damn nice job of it the welder has done too! He should be finishing it off either tomorrow of Wednesday - so it'll be back with me ready for its MOT (albeit multicoloured til I get it to the bodyshop!)

Well I'dve had the damn thing back tonight if the primer wasn't still wet! Looking damn good though - and its only primered with the welds ground down - til it goes to the bodyshop. Pics tomorrow hopefully (if it's not bloody raining!)

Right.. well I got the car back today - all nice and solid now, albeit multicoloured! Not filled or sprayed yet - thats just primered with the welds ground down.

Liking the new multicoloured bodykit! LOL. Looks good, plenty of rust prevention on it now, that should be a nice solid car for years to come.

BTW...get that thing to the bodyshop ASAP - primer isnt water-proof!!
