Ronnie wrote: Also, interesting to see '60's up against an Alfa 75 (Who's a very dirty driver) and a Golf. Volvo's got the advantage over both of them on the twisties (or maybe it's just the driver) before superior HP takes over. Solution - give the Volvo MORE POWER.
Let me at them! I'll have the pair of them, especially if I fitted a shorter diff, which I definitely would for racing :D

I'm totally inspired by those videos. Anyone else fancy buying an old banger 300 for use as a track car?

cheers

Foggy, guess why I drive 360, because it is my track day car ;)

Yes, I searched 2ltr rwd solely because I wanted bit of track action, ended up to 360. Just that shorter differential and front camber to -3 is what I would like to get.

Very interesting photos from engine there! Do you see how there is airduct to deliver cool air for renix coil as engine produces so much heat to engine bay?

Need mapping and few other parts to get sorted out then I could make a vid from my mod for rFactor. Mapping is just PITA to do as it is not ok when it looks ok in Max, lot of work.

I try to make that paintwork shown in fotos for V360cars.

Indeed those videos looks very good, here is little same kind of racing 39MB clip:

Oh yes, rFactor has Birmingham race track too and many others ;)

UK race tracks in rFactor:
Birmingham
Brands Hatch
Silverstone
Donington
Knockhill
Oulton Park
Castle Combe
Thruxton
Dunsfold Airfield, Top Gear Test track
Snetterton

Some of tracks have also different combinations, like long or short Donington. Just imagine racing 360 at one of those tracks :P

Not yet, but I'm sure that will come soon, take a look at this page http://www.corsicorsa.info/

That is project to get streetcars for rFactor, so that rFactor would be similar to Grand Tourismo 4, but more realistic.

That project started here:
http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=245143

F430 is already coming, with few suggestions F355 is possible too.

I miss the racing a lot... I never had much money, time or knowledge to put into making the car go any faster, so I generally didn't do too well. I always knew my car was inherently quite good, but needed someone to sort it out - the chap who bought it off me did it up and went on to win the next year's championship. 8)

I always had great starts and did lots of heroic out-braking manouevres into hairpins but lost most of the places I'd gained on the straights :( My best race was probably at Pembrey where I started a 1 hour enduro in 26th place and finished 16th.

Most memorable would definitely when I rolled my car coming out of Gerrards at Mallory - stopped the race and got my name in the following week's Autosport  :D
