Spotted: Canary Yellow Mk1 300

Post by Ronnie »

Seen from a speeding ambulance near Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.

Beautifully clean looking yellow mk1, very shiny! Reflected our blue lights nicely!

Anyone on here?

I know i would be quite tempted to get a mint mk 1 in that colour and put a later front and later dash etc in it. Love the colour!!!

You nutter!

Why would you change the most distinctive things about the Mk1. I'd own a Mk1, fit or get hold of a lower front valance that brings the front end lower and some better (but period) wheels.

Nothing wrong with the dash in Mk1's and early Mk2's - especially in red black beauty style ;)

One of the nicest Mk1's I've seen:

Here's what I'd do to a MK1:

Not the best base car to start off with in PS, but still - get the idea!

I wish I didn't do this PS... I'm having thoughts about a Mk1 now!

As I said on MSN Steve, that looks brilliant! Subtle things but they work so well. I've always liked the Mk1's, but had never even thought about owning one, that has also made me interested in them! The spots look perfect on Mk1's.

This is what I would do

Though the engine would be 24V 3.0l PRV with two turbos... Or 16V redblock turbo. :P

I've always wondered about the possibilities of mixing and matching, say a mk1 front end of a mk3 or something similar

Nice work Steve! Looks very interesting

Agreed Ali - I really like that front end with the recessed bonnet and wrap round headlight/indicator pods. Very striking. I guess you'd need the mk1 bonnet and wings as well as the front. Probably quite an easy job thanks to Volvo's use of bolts instead of welding (Stronger than welding too!)

Tsk n00bz....there's only one way to 'do' a mk1...

If I find the right car, it might just happen. It's that or a 66...

cheers
