Rustproofing

Post by Cornholio »

I've been trying hard to find someone local who will undertake a thorough rustproofing of the Redline. Sadly, haven't been able to find anyone.

However, just came across these guys whilst browsing the VOC site. They have sites in Morpeth and Barnsley.

They charge about £250 to treat a 300, which to me has to be money well spent. Hope to avail myself of their services later in the year.

I'm actually split on which route to take with this, as I've found an advert for a mobile rust proofing service, where they'll waxoyl/dinitrol the car on your drive, as long as there's enough room for their sheets and shelter, and a running water supply and electric I think. I need to enquire about costs, but I was going to wait until I've got the arch and door sorted on mine, or maybe get them to do the variomatic first. I've no idea on cost, the only thing that worries me slightly about letting someone else do it, is that they'll only squirt the rust treatment in the easy places, not necessarily the places we all know where a 300 will rust. So I'll be stood there annoying them saying well, a bit in there, that grommet out and squirt some along there etc to make sure it's fully done, as otherwise there is no point. I'll let you guys know how it goes when I find their details again.

This summer = Dinitrol Fest. All welcome. The 360 will be headlining with support from Nessy and 'The 240'. sm56

I can't help feeling that I'd just be lazy getting someone else to do this work for me. If you don't feel able / motivated, it looks like a great service. They mention consulting the owner, so that's good enough for me.

cheers

Yeah, although I do like to 'have a go', I don't have a driveway. Everything has to be done on the road, so I'm happier leaving things like this to people with the facilities.

That said, if you need a hand with the Dinitrol later in the year I'd be happy to pop over.
