Jani....surely your car has a 3.3(6?) diff?

16.2s 0-60 1/4....not a hope mate. I'd probably run a 16.5 or maybe a shade lower if I got everything sorted out properly.

cheers

Jani's thing is set up for a 3.36...

And yeah, I know there isn't a hope, which is why I posted it ;) S'Ok, better than the 600000bhp reading I got before that... The program is great, when you understand how it works, and know how to not confuse it ;)

Sure, I do have 3,36, but 1,7l and GLT models have 3,64 diff, gear ratios however are same

Oh yes, now I remember one funny thing, local guru's here bought nice rolling road thingy and I was of course up to look what it is like, it was funny, really, whole dyno software is just a Excel spreadsheet, you set values to it and then rolling road measures forces, voila you get power readings, but there is very easy to make that 30hp mistake, even tires used and tire pressure makes a lot of difference.

So it is always how good dyno operator is, that means a lot when looking power curves, if operator knows his job, then we are getting close, same with software ;)

I really like from software, I have used it to adjust my WOT fuel map, there it is very good, also when you change camshaft or try different fuel etc.

If I get money someday, I'm planning on testing with normal fuel and normal fuel with Vegetable oil mix, also perhaps E-85 and E-100 if I can get hold of those. Just need to empty tank and do mapping :P

Well i've build the same setup as Chris but I can't get any decent results. For some reason the wave is coming out below 0 on the scale (in the software that im using) the centre point of the wave is more like -0.12 and i've tried that with two different dictaphones. I'm using a stereo cable to connect the dictaphone to the PC, don't know if this would make any difference?
cheers

use a sound recorder software like Sound Forge and find the function called 'Remove DC offset' That should sort that if its what I think it is.

I know nothing about this software BTW but if its using a sound wave.....

Sh*t, sorry Ali, knew there was something else I was supposed to tell you, yeah, Andy's right, remove teh DC offset, usually under amplitude menus, if it asks about a gain, stick in 0db's

My friends honda has negative trigger, so it is perhaps case that you have, then you just need to choose negative trigger box in powerdyn...

Right well after doing what Andy said and removing the DC offset i've got a better wave, stuck it into powerdyn but can't get anything decent out of it, most of the time it won't give any results with the detection level set too high but if I lower it enough then it gives silly figures (15000bhp at 9000rpm anyone?) which I think is due to picking up background noise. Basically I think its down to the quality of my recordings now, the output is set to 50mV and when I play it back on the dictaphone its quite loud, I then plug it into the computer, press play on the dictaphone and record the sample (comes out of the speakers quite loud) but then when i replay it after it is a lot quieter and there aren't really any definate peaks on the wave. Chris and Jtbo, are you using a mono to mono cable, mono to stereo or stereo to stereo? Just wondering if thats why i'm not picking up a good enough signal,
cheers

I'm using mono to mono mate, but you are completely right, it's the fact it's recording too loud on your dicatphone that is causing hassle, as it's recording both the 'big' spike, and the 'little' spike of each pulse at the same level, and no matter what you do on the computer afterwards, you can't retrive that info. Give me a shout later, and I'll send you a wav that works, and you'll be able to see what I mean.

On my dictaphone, you change the volume for the loudspeaker to change the input sensitivity of the recording, and I have to have it on 1.5 out of ten to get a good signal. If you can't change your dictaphone sens, turn down the pot to around 20ish mV, and have another go.
