strips above the windows

Has anyone ever tried to cut the chrome or black strips above the windows? I mean the strips that runs from the underside of the windshield to the 5th door along the roof line. I think this strip is the cause of wind noise, and it also doesn't look very good. I'm thinkin of cuttin this strip of with a grinder and spray it.

would not advise to cut it of totally, because it contains the welds that hold the roof and the other parts together

you could try to grind off the outer edge, and then flatten the remainder against the body. then you will have to invent a way to make it look smooth and clean again....

Thanx, I did mean the dakgoot. I was worried that there'd be welding beneath this strip. Wil this weld open up as soon as I grinded it of? Otherwise I can weld the roof and rest of the car together again.
