Another great video!

Really need to get my arse in gear and do some more to Fioner. Been a bit lazy of late - most of my 'car time' has been spent getting the MR2 ready to be sold and sorting out little problems on the BX.

Due to the immenent purchase of a house I cant afford to do any events at the mo, but need to get Fioner ready for some stages on the Wales Rally GB later in the year!!!

No it is not note from exhaust, it is note from intake, that is why twin carbs / individual runners (I guess it is called that? 4 throttle butterflies and fuel injection :P) are so great, because of great sound.

yeah its a single box 2.25"[mb 2"?] system. i dont know where it came from or who made it but its very good design. i would guess its bespoke and all pipe has been bent to fit. it has no clamps and is held together with springs so if the cars off the ground it takes only 1 or 2 mins to remove it all.....its a bit noisey and is 2 or 3 db over the max limit for stage rallys but we put a baffle up rear pipe for noise tests and then just pull it out after its past. we're going to take it off and get an exact copy made as the silencer is on its last legs.

Haha... yeah that is a lovely induction noise :D Nice bit of sideways there, does that car have an LSD or just stock rear end?

Yeah I thought it sounded too raspy to just be the induction noise! Was considering single silencer on mine as it seems to make it more raspy rather than just deep, is the single silencer a perforated core one or a resonater?

Yes, the 'rasp' is what the exhaust adds. It's hard to tell from there how much of the background 'growl' is intake and how much exhaust. I just pulled the backbox off my car (it started raining half-way through a swap...and I fancied being a ricer for a few days!), and mine is stupidly loud.

cheers

I was gonna do that on mine, but decided it was far too loud (after struggling for ages to get the rusted back box off!!). I did it in my yoof to a couple of cars, but too old for that sort of thing now :)

Yeh they do sound good with a single silencer system even the 1.4's do!!!! lol If you do go for one box though i advise getting the biggest you can squeeze in. The only annoying thing is motorway driving. I dont mind it so much on mine but my passengers hate the droning noise it makes!!

apparently, cam profile has a lot to do with induction/exhaust noise. for instance - the reason why most italian cars have a metalic overtone is because the valves are lifted and dropped very quickly, compared to other cars
