Well... I rescue this topic to see if somebody has a solution now in 2007

My 360 have wind noises too, but wind noises that include door shaking !! Will be a problem of door rubber, aerodynamics or what ? I'll try to reduce them putting a cable under the rubber to avoid the wind get into, but it's so extreme that I think will be for nothing...

Any suggestions ?

Thanks !!!

Is the top section of the door bent in anyway? If someone has attempted to break in by bending the top of the door that can lead to this sort of shaking. For some reason the drivers door does it on my van above certain speeds....... however that was never designed for speed! It's odd that it's only the drivers door though.

I'd imagine the seals could be shot, but some wind must be deflected in the wrong way first to make it want to judder anyway! Split trim on the A pillar anywhere?

3drs are pretty bad for this...I bet it's a combination of the rubbers and the pins. Probably mainly the pins, to be fair. They're very cheap...which reminds me, I must do Nessy's!

cheers

Yeah, if it's the one it think it is, blue handle on a straight bar, I wasn't impressed when it comes to 300 door pins! You can't hit it close enough to the actual pin gripping part, which then means your arm takes the shock of the hit, not the pin as it should! I couldn't get it to shift a single pin out of four......... not impressed. I'd soaked them in WD-40 for several weeks, with the bottom dust cap still in place and still nothing.

I believe Mac's special Volvo tool is cranked, ending up being a sort of Z shape, so there is a bar at 90 degrees to the post, then a vertical parallel to the door post, then a second horizontal piece to hit sticking out further, meaning you're not taking the blow by supporting it!

Either way, I'm not impressed with the Draper kit, the actual pins are ok, it's just the handle is pants! I ended up getting the angle grinder out, as the car was going for scrap and taking them off at the post! Sadly, this isn't the way to go on your daily driver!

LOL, you haven't seen what happened to that shell since you last saw it James. It's had a serious date with the angle grinder and several discs! For starters you A pillar, which reminds me....... I've got some pics of that for you of the inner section I was on about.

Any idea how much a Volvo hinge pin removal tool is, if they're available?

It would be nice to get a good one. The only ones I have ever had will only do one or two pins before destruction :x
