Fuel injection was never offered on the volvo 1.4 - I don't know of any renault with that engine that had fuel injection either.
Do you have LPG there?

Single point injection, some call it electronic carburettor, should be possible to install to existing manifold, some machining needed if holes are differently positioned in that, but anyway should be possible.
It had Fenix 3 engine management according to this site:
http://www.atpelectronics.co.uk/Catalogue/renault.htm
To 1.7 engine one could take head with injectors and manifold from 440 1.7i but that would not help with 1.4 as engines are completely different.
Multipoint injection is perhaps not possible very easily as one would have to make new intake manifold for that, I guess 1.4l engine was never offered with it in any car?
There was revised model E7J from 1.4l engine too that has single point injection as well, used in Renault 19 and that had older C3J engine too, according to this site:

Oh, look what Wiki tells:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_Cl%C3%A9on_engine
As C1J, C2J and C3J was Renault versions of Volvo B14.X engine, then in those listed cars there should be somewhat compatible parts.
