Maybe it's because of what you're doing, going fast isn't about being agressive with the car, it's about being in control and using smooth moevments and little changes.A M R wrote: for some reason the car feels faster than it actually is, which is quite fun, but jerks quite a bit when you let off the accelerator or stamp on it. maybe thats because of the engine/gearbox mounts?
Take cornering for an example, if you come to a corner, stamp on the brakes and yank the wheel round you're going to be heading nowhere but the nearest tree.
It's just the same in a straight line, if you are ambling along and stamp on the accelerator, don't be surprised if the car has a bit of a shake and a judder, if you "need" to kick down, do it more gently and the car will respond more positively, alternatively, you could double-declutch and shift down if you're out of the power band.
Lifting off suddenly is very bad too. Especially, as I suspect you are doing by the jerk, if you're doing it quite high in the rev range. You're just going to introduce a lot of engine braking, which is not only bad for you and your passengers, but not going to do anything to prolong the life of your engine. Try using your clutch and brakes, it's what they're there for.
