Wanted: Front door check strap

Here we have another item that has been discontinued.

Does anyone have a spare check strap they'd be willing to sell to me? It's for the driver's door on my 1989 5 door 340.

Thanks Jay. A couple of doors could do with replacing, but there's all the hassle with the colour and the graphics. Plus the postage could be quite expensive...

If you would be willing to detach the check strap, that would be great please.

Can do that for you. Is this for your redline? What doors need replacing, know of a redline being broken, also do you come down the London way at all? got a 340 with the number plate spelling you name G** AVN!

Yes, it's for the Redline. The driver's side rear door is probably the scruffiest, but I'll have a look at the other ones too. They are all going a bit around the edges but are not too bad.

I don't often come to London, but will be driving down to Stansted late May and early June.

The number plate does sound good, but I have a list of jobs that I need to spend money on. I'm sorry to say that a new reg is quite low on the list of priorities.

Well can post the check strap, let me know if you need the doors and will find out how much the guy wants for them. You can then pick them up in late may or if i'm ever up there I can drop it to you, not often up there may i add lol.

Re the doors ,Milton keynes is about half way if thats of any help to either of you ,
I dont mind bits being dropped off here and picked up later (within reason)

I don't know how handy the breaking Redline is for you to look at it. If the car is conveniently located, maybe I could post some pictures here of my doors. That way you'd have a good idea as to whether I'd benefit from swapping

Well im going to see the car tomorrow so if you just let me know how bad your doors are and which ones, the amount each door is worth and then i can have a look and let you know the price..

The bad door is the rear offside. I had the following repaired a couple of years ago, but the rust is coming back again:



Otherwise my doors are quite clean with just the odd bit of bubbling and a dent or two. Unless the ones you look at are über clean I may not gain much with them.

If the rear bumper is in good condition I may be interested.

Went to see that redline, ended up buying the set of seats for my basic 340 (driver's seat bit worn!). The redline is in black with the graphics so i don't think its of any use to you. The doors aren't good anyway and the bumper is bent too! All in all its too far gone and a lot of the parts are sold.
