Fixed!
The only way we'll allow you to keep that car is if you rip out the 1.6 and replace with a 1.9TDi from a 440.
Terms and conditions apply. This post may go down as well as up. Regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Hard hats to be worn. No reversing without a banksman. No admittance to unauthorized persons. Stop that. Put that down. Leave that alone.
that looks a very clean car! nice find! may I ask how much you paid for it? Are they quite common in belgium?
I was in Amsterdam last week for a few days and was hoping to see lots of 340s. maybe coz I was in the city centre but I only saw 2 the time I was there... an no volvo 66s... saw some nice 164s, 140s and a 242 though
I go away for a few days, and all the cheeky comments start I reckon its cos you're all jealous, and anyway....I just like to drive within the law...something all you hooligans conveniently bend.
Anyhow, my little car held 115 mph (real speed on a GPS, not indicated) on a maximum speed run up the derestricted Autobahn, up a slight hill. I lifted off after that because although it was still picking up speed it was slow and the temperature needle was starting to creep.
Aymat that diesel is going to be the slowz0rz. I agree with Rupert, it needs to have at least the 1.8 turbodiesel from the 440, the original 1.6 NA is going to be like driving a tractor, except even slower
Maybe i should buy one of these for my mother . Because she reminds me everynow and then that my 360 is slow compared to her Corolla .
1999 Volvo S80 T6 Quiet long distance cruiser.
1990 Volvo 360 GLi Waiting inspiration.
1989 Toyota Land Cruiser For days when wellies aren't enough inside the car.
1987 Volvo 360 GLi Being restored.
1986 Volvo 740 Turbo Sold, but not forgotten.
29p a litre! Sounds like a good, cheap way to get around ...
I have to say I have no practical experience with veg oil whatsoever. But my mate Google reckons:
diesel engines fitted with rotary CAV/Lucas pumps, or pumps which follow their same general design including those made by Delphi, Rotodiesel and Stanadyne, are generally unsuitable for conversion
This heat exchanger is Not recommend for diesel vehicles with the following Injection pumps Lucas, Cav, Delphi, Standyne and Roto diesel
Injection pumps from Bosch, Diesel-Kiki, Nippon-Denso or Zexel have shown the best results when operating on vegetable oil. Injection pumps from Delphi, Lucas, CAV, Stanadyne and Roto-Diesel are only partially suitable.
We do not suggest the conversion of engines equipped with distributor-type injection pumps manufactured by DELPHI, LUCAS, CAV, Stanadyne and Roto-Diesel.
