Practical Performance Car feature

Post by Ali »

Alright guys!

Haven't been on the forum for ages now, constantly busy with work! Unfortunately the 360 doesn't get used now as the temp insurance policy I was using got stopped and only people that will quote me is flux at £1425 so no chance!

Anyway, I got my car featured a few weeks back by PPC mag and the magazine is on the shelves from next Thursday (25th October), its a 4page article so thought i'd give you guys a heads up!

The car will also be up for sale shortly because its not getting the use i'd like it to :( got myself a rice rocket instead for a daily driver which has made the 360 redundant, i'll offer it up on here first when the time comes as i'd like it to go to a good home and not just get trashed :)

I'd heard a rumour that the car was going to be up for sale. It's a shame you've been a victim of the insurance buggers. You could try playing Flux against Chris Knott a bit, as they both use the same underwriter for modified cars. That's what I do, and I've halved the quote before.

I hope someone buys it to have fun with it, when the time comes. As you say, it'd be a shame for it to get trashed.

Looking forward to seeing the feature :)

cheers

Right... how easy is it to swap the box on a 60? That'd make a good rally car with little effort, and may be cheaper than me getting a cage ;)

Ah, hang ong, I'm forgetting the silly rule book again, no snails :(

Ali,

it will be nice to see some coverage of you 360 in the mag. A real shame you'll have to sell it due to robbing b...

I hope you will still find time to drop in on us after you have sold it.

Chris why not take off the snail and drop in a 2.3 on carbs?

Seems a shame after the work Ali's put in though :( And not allowed twin carbs either, which is a shame, and why Sven pounced that single DCOE manifold when it came up! Could go stock 16V though...

The turbo kit would be easy enough to sell on...it's only one string to the car's bow. Why are you worried about the box swap, Chris?

cheers

I'm not rallying a welded diff... well, would see how it went, but *if* I though about this then I would be planning on the box swap.

And yeah, tubby would be ok to sell on... just I like the idea of it being quick... would have to be a long term 2.3 really, and would save 16Ving Fake. Hmmm, Ali, I'll catch you on MSN and have a chat.

Afraid the cage wouldn't pass ANY regulations mate so don't be thinking about buying it because of that, I could break it for parts and get a fair bit of money back but after all the hard work i'd rather sell it complete. I've got so much spare crap to go with it aswell! All the spare wheels, full glt interior, loads of bits n bobs! My parents will be over the moon when its all gone lol, be sad seeing it go but i'm just taking the cheating easy way out for more power now

Hi Ali mate, well done on getting the write up, I'll try and grab myself a copy. Sad news to hear you're moving away from 300's, insurance is a proper PITA, especially if it'd modified. I've got some thinking to do soon, as I'll probably be running 3 300's if not more, I once looked at a fleet policy, but I don't know how it would work, as I'd like to put my van on it as well, but I don't know if they'd mix commercials with cars........ worth looking at though.

Well, I hope the car goes to a good home, as you've put a lot of hard work and time into it. I've not seen it in ages or experienced any of the turbo goodness!

Anyway, all the best chap!
