Nice! And the paint looks real glossy, and not a hint of pink

Glossy paint

Post by workshopmanualman »

Dunno - ding in the rear wing, creative photography; you'd have to see this one in the flesh to get a good idea as to condition, especially for £800. The one I bought looked very good on eBay, but just OK in the flesh. These digital cameras have a habit of neutralising paint issues somehow.

Look at the paint job!!

There is one in Australia from a stealer that is going for the equivalent of 1400 pounds.

I think it probably *is* that good....but would you really trust a seller who takes such strange photos...then uploads most of them twice...and a couple of which are clearly just shots of the ground?!

That is a touch odd...although even at 100k, who cares when it's in that sort of condition? Far more important nowadays than mileage.

Nice and clean

Post by workshopmanualman »

The underside of mine is black with original underseal and road grime - this one is red underneath as well by the looks of things. Overspray from a respray? I find it a tad hard to believe that the jacking points are immaculate as well. It would have been interesting had the seller added a few engine bay shots, as that would have told a better story as to condition. Certainly the 15k one on at the moment looks a better bet for anybody.

Just adding fuel to the fire really for a bit of forum fun - WS-M has a high retiree population, so it is possible that the car is a minter with 100k up. Possible. But all that salty air....

[Bit of a pedantic post - been to the pub, and I'm avoiding the kids, wife and house stuff!]

They should be body coloured as far as the jacking points. Factory underseal stopped at the seam/ridge between the floorpan and outer sill. I don't see anything out of the ordinary here. My 360 is relatively clean, and lived next to the sea for its first 16 years. :?

cheers

Where will it stop?

Post by workshopmanualman »

Only a bit of forum fun, but...
They should be body coloured as far as the jacking points.
Aye cap'ain, but the points themselves look red to me, which to my mind is suggestive of a little paint application recently? Could be a devious plot, or could just be a fastidious owner.

Whatever - unless we have the car in front of us, with those photographs we shall never tell from here. Certainly whatever paint it does have on looks well polished, and the car has a solid look to it. Could spend the rest of our lives going around in circles. If somebody does find themselves a nice little mint car, then fair play to them.

Sorry....I didn't make that too clear...the front faces of the jacking points should be body colour too :)

Seriously...onlookers must think we're so sad :D

I'm beyond being worried about onlookers - I owned a DAF and loved it, and am now on my 2nd 300!

I'd put bets on that being a genuinely nice example, but as is always the case there's no point speculating til seeing the car in the metal
