clutch shaft HELPPP!!!!!!!

elo my clutch shaft has bent due to me being stupid init, where do i get one from, no breakers in kent have a volvo 340 in, so im kind of stuck does anyone have one or no where you can get them from and posted to you???? if so how much thanks

what the heck were you up to when managing to kill a prop shaft?! (I know they aren't the strongest bit on these cars, but that is still impressive)

He didn't say the propshaft, do you mean the clutch output shaft?

i think its thats yea its the bar that had 2 bearings init and run thru the bellhousing one is connected to the clutch the other is connected to the propshaft, its about 30cm long and made from hi tens steel lol and its an acheivement to bend one if u wana no... i had music to loud, and was racing a 1.1 fiat punto and i changed from 2nd gear to 1st when the revs were to high on the engine, made a big bang and wen the car runs with the clutch out it vibrates where the shaft is bent and makin the propshaft wobble, so yea great day that was especially as ive got 2 days to get one before i go southend :cry:

are you sure its bent? picture would be good...

even my prop rattles.. and what revs are you saying were high?

i redline the car alot vmaxing it when i race, and never had any problems other than the carb as such jumping and making the air leak worse... so i dont see how you bent it that way.

I suggest you take the prop off first to investigate. I have a feeling it could be bearbox end or possibly the bearing or clutch itself. That shaft is not very likelyto bend tbh.

well ive taken it off all bearings are fine clutch is fine prop is fine, but the shaft is bent by about 1mm i will put pictures up when i get shaft back off my mate but for now ive found a 1.4 340 thats being stripped and scrapped so im guna go take the clutch shaft off of that..


kaos- it bent when i chaged from 2nd to 1st and the revs were to high in 2nd and it went in 1st and wen bang lol

adam- no mate mines standard 1.4 am lookin in to doing an engine conversion but want to do it on little money as possible will a 1.7 engine fit straight in?? (off topic sorry)

Right did you get the car to Trans lock on the down change?
Mine has been pretty bullet proof except for the one clutch i killed.

welll.... shes all repaired now and back on road, i found a 1.4 that was being scrapped in essex so had sum parts....

I had a 340 with one of those shafts bent. It does happen.

Abusing a 1.1 Punto should be easy ;) Although perhaps not if you say "init" that often ;)
