Cheers guys, needs a few bits doing such as front and rear spoilers, and a new front bumper, but im just having fun learning about the car at the moment and trying new things out to see if they work.

Get some autoglym on that paint, it should come up a treat.

I dont know what to do about the paint, was thinking about re-spraying it when i have the time, but people seem to like the matt maroon finish, and i must admit im kinda digging it myself lol.

you will be amazed, what some polish and some elbow grease will do, the paint is normaly very deep. my paint was not quite as bad as yours but it was on the way.

Just a quick update started spraying the trim around the windows today, it used to be chrome from what i remember but over time had gone nasty grey so out came the paint, only got one side done today so will get the other done tomorrow(hopefully). Anyways got some pics of what i did so here they are for your amusement lol.
All covered in tape and newspaper to stop me spraying the body.
First coat of primer on
After several primer coats on with the flat black
After several flat black coats i removed everything and this was the end result, far better then before imo, i also sprayed the plastic which runs along the top of the windows, by now it was dark so excuse the poor pic.
Dan.

Hi Dan,
I've just cut the paint back on my DL, using Autoglyms paint renovator, and it worked a treat. It took a few hours to do, and then another hour to wax, but it transformed my matt car into a shiney one

Hmm may have ago with it, but there isn't much paint left on her lol, if you look around the boot and along the edges some places you can see where the paint has rubbed down to the primer. So i am thinking of leaving it as is paint wise and getting everything else sound and then giving her a re spray.
Cheers Dan

Leave the paint alone! It looks like it's been done satin red on purpose
I was going to suggest some 15s to help it look lower (smaller gap to the arch), but those rims look cool as.

I would highly recommend taking your headlights apart and giving them a good clean (be careful not to scratch the reflectors though). They look rather dull and it will make a huge difference to lighting output
