that's what I like about this forum. A thread starts about a car for sale on eBay, and a page later we're discussing the merrits and pitfalls of the collective intelect of a nation. And part time employment.

Keep it up gentlemen.

Moving things on....

I'm not sure the HSE want us to live in an Auntie State. Has to be the dweebs misinterpreting things? I have a Honda Jazz as well as the Volvo. That has a little feature that applies the brakes a little bit harder if it thinks you're not braking enough. And now some newer cars have got predictive braking where the driver has no involvement in the decision to brake at all.

Having been to America a few times, all I can say is the more beeps the better! I was in one shop, and the guy at the door - greeter - said hello how are you. I walked straight out again, but changed my mind and went back. At no time was I more than three foot away from the guy. Yup, as I turned around in front of him he said hello how are you again.
I blame the Volvo 66 estate I had......

Shouldnt human beings be held a LITTLE bit more responsible for their own conuct and actions?

If you dont know how much break to apply, youre not paying enough attention.
If you dont mind your head, you walk into things.
Thats the best basis for learning surely?

You either die, or learn. Usually fast.
Natural selection.

Pas, abs, parking sensors, aided braking etc etc, just makes you a lazier driver doesnt it?

My last car was a 1958 morris oxford. And that was great great fun. Seat of your pants, 100% driver unaided, adventure motoring.

Im starting a campaign right here. Lets get rid of aids altogether!
Actually, I think that might give people the wrong idea.

Might just call it the Real Driving Revolution.

I think most people would drink to that. Oh....driving aids...sm56 I know what you mean. Having said that, ABS is a good idea for most people.
