Which engine dude? 1.7 seem the most resilient to floods, but each seem to have there own favourite things to break!

(b200) i have checked the distributor cap to make sure it wasn't damp. Still need to check the plugs and stuff going to the throttle body.

My b200e kicked up a huge load of fuss after going through a ford. After stripping down the entire LE jet system, cleaning all electrics (even down to having the injectors cleaned and tested) it turned out that the cam belt has slipped.

Dizzy layshaft was out one tooth with respect to the cam, and the cam several teeth as far as I can work out with respect to the crank. I'm very lucky nothing bent!

Never had this trouble with the 1.7 through fords! Still, the GLT is a lot perkier for having all the LE jet stuff working inside spec again

Now chris, nobody likes Fords.
They're overpriced, usually underequiped, and common as muck.
But if you try and drive your Volvo THROUGH one, you will have to expect at least SOME damage.

Thank you.
I'm here all week.

as much as i luv my volvo i wont sit here and hear people slagging of the amazing blue oval, yes mk1 + 2 escorts are vastly overpriced and since buying mine there are now millions of zetec s's just in berwick, but gettin t fezza in january and doing 6000 miles its caused me no bother and since buyin my volvo in febuary and doing 2500 miles its gave up on me more times than i can count on both hands, spent 7 hours at the side of the A1 and been towed home by a rover

and to be fair i dont think my volvo would go through my fezza but more just run it over

however driveing the volvo is far more fun cause you just never no whats gonna happen  which isn't always a gud thing tho

The MK1 KA is fantastic to drive though despite it's looks. Hands down best handling car I've ever driven.

ha yarp. It wasn't mine luckily, just had the option of driving it often. I once chased a MR2 with 200bhp down a tight country lane and kept up easily. It was like a go-cart! Absolutly underpowered on any straight bit of road over 40mph though :D
