Hi, I'll be there, Andy has kindly offered me a lift. I'm not sure about the camping though, that's up to the driver, if he can make Saturday! I don't have his number, so we'll have to wait and see!

If anyone wants to find out the prices, there's the details

Sounds like the decision of Sunday has been made for me, so I suppose that'll be alright :)

I'm not intending to camp. The M5 shouldn't be too bad, and I don't need to go too far from here to get there.

We need to decide where we're going to meet. We could meet on Sunday at the campsite depending on where it is, or off the M5 somewhere, or at this do. Can I suggest that we meet before this rally, and then we can go in in convoy and park the cars in a line :)

EDIT: I just looked on the www.west-somerset-railway.co.uk website and found the following directions to Bishops Lydeard station, which I presume is close to the rally

Bishops Lydeard station is only 4 miles from Taunton, close beside the A358 road to Minehead. Taunton is best reached by the M5 Motorway. Visitors should leave the M5 at Junction 25 and proceed through Taunton by following the brown signs to "West Somerset Railway" before turning right onto the A358. The West Somerset Railway is also signposted on this road and motorists should note that the station is to the LEFT of the main road, Bishops Lydeard village being on the right.

Bishops Lydeard Station has a large free car park but, with the exception of Minehead, parking at all other stations is somewhat limited.

Didn't even have to book. The cost is going to be sub £30 all-in...so ~£5 each. Bargain!

What about on Sunday for those of us not camping? Perhaps at the Taunton Deane Services again? Apparently you can't turn around there, so there may be a bit of backward and forwarding on the M5.

Can I suggest for the campers at non campers to meet at the services at some time in the morning on the Exeter bound side. After a chat, and perhaps campers may want breakfast there(?) we then head to the rally in convoy so that all the 300's can park in a line. :)

According to my dad who knows more about good routes thinks that the best way to get from the M5 to Bishops Lydeard is from Junction 26, up to the A38, and follow that to the A3065 to avoid Taunton centre. From there up the A358 to Bishops Lydeard.

What do you think, and time suggestions, as well as where the campers will have breakfast :)

Mmm...breakfast....I'm sold!

I'll call tomorrow regarding what time we can get on-site.

Well that's the next thing to be decided. I think (since they normally want you out good and early) that we get up, go to Hugh's place, play with Nessy for a bit, then head to the steam rally in the afternoon. Does that sound like a plan? Is that cool Hugh...can you warn your folks :) Seeing Nessy started again ought to give some hope that she might be leaving at some point!

What's the score with Snowy....care to give us a list of do's and dont's? I guess anything obviously missing (like...er...driver's seat ;)) is a bad move?

I've secured the use of an additional 2-man tent, so that eases tent-congestion. Chris/Kate, Me/Steve, and Pete/Andy to share?

cheers

James
