The stock renix will run it, but the spark will be all over the place so it's pretty pointless. Aftermarket will require tuning as will the carbs to get stock power.

Why not just run a stock Williams ecu? You'll get the maps the engine had designed for it by a huge team of engineers over a good period of developement.

The reason i ask is because my engine is cobbled up from parts.
I have a f7r bottom end from a megane and a 1.8 head from a clio which i intend to put clio valves in.
The ecu i got wirth this set up is from a megane and i doubt that would be suitable.
This is why i am thinking along the stand alone spark management route, as the bike carbs will handle the fueling doing away with the injection system.

Hybrid ftw!
Considered Megasquirt?
Be easier than carbs to set up, and 0% maintainence.

I run a megane bottom end with 1.8 head with Williams spec valves, dizzy on head.

Williams ECU works very nicely with a slightly modified map

I plan to run the megane valves in the clio head. as far as i know this will make it ther equivilent of a williams head. Maybe with a mild bit of porting and polishing. But ive heard the gains from this are minimal.
i have never realy been a fan of injection and have grown up with bike carbs. Webbers. And su's so the carb tuning dosnt pose a problem for me.
What does however is the ignition so any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

a most interesting read.
i read on there that mega jolt uses a sensor for the air pressure and adjusts the timing to suit?
anyone know how this would affect the bike carb set up? as i wouldnt know where to mount said sensor.

whilst inspecting my heads today, i came up with a few questions.

1. do people only run the megane valves in the clio head to retain the distrubutor over the coil packs? is this why a earler megane head is desired with the 33mm inlets? and would that bolt straight on.

2. if this is the case, can i use my later megane head (with coil packs) with the megajolt ignition system? doing away with the distributo altogether?

3. which do you prefer, daddy or chips?

Yes, there is no reason I can see why you can't run the coil packs with something like megajolt. The reason I didn't is the big coil pack lump has a reputation of being scared of water and mine get's forded a fair bit... I still have my megane one knocking round somewhere!

ive been bouncing emails back and forth with a guy at www.trigger-wheels.co.uk
who sells the megajolt via ebay and he tells me that the megane coil packs wouldnt work with the megajolt as it is a twin coil wasted spark ignition.
and as far as i know the megane coil pack is a single coil per plug unit?
can anyone back this up?
im very keen to get the megajolt system as i hear good things about it.
