No money will be coming from insurance company as I left keys in the ignition and car unlocked - having made the claim I lose my No Claims bonus even though I get no compensation for its loss

That's perverse about the NCB. Could the crooks have seen that the keys were in it?
I must admit, I was doing exactly the same with the 343 before it was legally back on the road, although it was safely behind a roller shutter door. Keys are now secured before anyone gets any ideas...
cheers

Here we have even instruction to keep keys in or immediate vicinity of the car when it's in garage, just so that in case of fire it can be moved.
My 360 has no all running parts installed, that is very good theft protection, take distributor or pats of it with you and arseholes can't drive it away, simply taking ignition lead that runs from from renix to distrubtor is making quite good measure. Insurance companies generally do try to avoid paying up, but if car is taken from locked up garage, there surely is break in marks and that should be plenty of enought to have it in locked space.
With their logic it should be then that as your tv is not locked or bolted they do not pay up if it is taken? That does not make sense, they should be charged from fraud really.
