the connector which attaches to the phone is broken... charger for 9xx series and newer ones has different connector. somebody told me to buy a connector for data cable - i will consider...
p.s not all nokias and ericssons have same connector...

That sounds like a good idea, but make sure you get the right pins!!
True, not *all* Nokias are the same, but almost are. Ericssons of the same age generally use the same connector.

I still have a horrible and old Ericsson A2618S...

I don't recommand to buy that on Ebay... I had a lot of problems, the only good thing was the high capacity battery, 1400 mAh, pretty good in 2000...

You will all laugh, my mobile phone is broken... I have now an... Ericsson A1018S! Yahooooooo!

Dad's 940 has a 'full' handsfree kit for that with wired-in mics, body aerial and stereo hookup, etc, so we bought a phone to fit it! The joys of old ericssons! Up until last November I used an SH888 every day...one of the first phones with a programmable ringtone!

I'll try to win a new one (competition) cause I prefer to spend my money for the Volvo...

The SH888 was one of the first phones with an Infrared modem in... At the time when I got one they were about £400 and I was the envy of all my geeky friends

Hmm... My current phone is not much smaller, it's certainly a regression in size over the last one. Oh, and Three sucks, so I don't have the slightest idea why I own it. As long as it can make calls, I guess.
I used to have a sagem RC815 Pro... Now that was an awful phone. These days car kits don't matter since Bluetooth phones and headsets are quite cheap

Yeah, SH888 had some seriously cool toys. I believe it was also one of the first dual-band GSM phones. Shame no-one goes for 'classic phones'!
I don't see bluetooth as that big a leap forwards. It's wireless, sure, but its still not a patch on a 'speakerphone' car setup in my eyes.

bluetooth speakerphone in a car is the hight of coolness - just leave phone in yer pocket and when you sit in your car it auto-switches over.

Yeah, that would be VERY smooth.
This thread surely wins the 'worst thread ever' prize!?
