Having taken a mirror apart, I can tell you that they're WIERD!

The heater elements are two little 'pills', somewhere between the shape and size of a penny and a pound coin. There is no timing element in the mirror itself, and I've never seen anything like that in the wiring on a 300s...but who knows.
