Hehe, found the old topic
http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... torder=asc
No one was intested then
I didn't have a very good look at them at Christmas, but they seemed to be good condition, although I believe my dad thought some of the foam may have slightly come off from one of them, so only one is currently fitted

Carl should be able to help you here John, I think he's just fitted/fitting gauges to a B200e. I'm sure I remember him saying the thread was a M14x1.5, but he should be able to confirm.

Yes, if we can ascertain the correct spec & then where to source - I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting one ? !
Cheers,

I've ordered an M18x1.5 oil temp sensor from Demon Tweaks, as after a bit of digging I decided that was the correct size. However DT are having trouble getting one from VDO so I'm still waiting after almost 2 months
Will give them a call tomorrow to chase them up (I'd forgotten about it TBH). When (if) it eventually turns up I will report back to let you know whether it fits or not.

Cheers for that ! I think Chris or Steve recommended another place that sold various senders, but we needed the correct spec - it will be in the previous threads somewhere !

J.

Lowtension are worth a call. They got me the pressure sender. Their website has gone, but I think they're still in business. Try a google...

Found the link from Chris C - as you sugeested James !
"Do you know the thread of the sump plug and the depth needed John??
http://lowtension.com/pdf/temperature_sensors.pdf
That lists the VDO part numbers if you know the specs needed"
See if we can sort the spec now !!!
Cheers,
John.

Link broken, but spec wise for the temp it's easy enough, what ever the temp reading is on the dial is the range on the sender, and the max resistance swing is as far as I remember around 180ohms.
Did you sort out your oil pressure gauge? For a Volvo gauge, you need 5 bar gauge, 0.5bar oil warning switch, and 180ohm swing, at whatever thread the orig pressure switch is (M14.1.5 rings a bell, but then, that's what I thought last time)

Right, found another list of them, probably not fully comprehensive, but doesn't include a M18, larget thread is an M16. Not sure if you've seen John, but I put mine in with a T-piece, so I don't go near the sump. Might be worth trying to find a sump mounted one, just throwing an idea around if you cant. Anyway, linky link
http://www.nhspeedometer.com/senders.htm
About 3/4 to all the way down, has part no's, might be useful. What range is the Volvo gauge?

Well DT have had no luck confirming a delivery date with their supplier of the senders, so I've cancelled that, but hopefully the adaptor for the pressure sender should turn up in the next few days.
The hunt for the temp sender is back on then! Will try and give Low Tension a call tomorrow.
