Good work on the dorifto action on the grass gents, hooligans! Good vids Steve.
Interesting find on the wheel Ali. It seems a bit odd, as approx up until maybe E reg, Volvo supplied a matching alloy wheel for the GLT's, certainly seen them in D reg cars, and so it'd make sense for yours! Maybe it was in the period of change over to the steelies when Volvo started getting tight and saving money on the 300's, like not putting recirc in as well!

My 87 car has a 14" pepper pot style steel spare, the same as my '88 car - I don't think this wheel Ali has is usually a spare.
jarlidge - sure that you haven't got the 13" version of this rim? These are common.

I KNEW I heard someone call me, I thought I was going mad!
I saw the three cars parked up on the grass as I was leaving, parked up for a bit to see if you guys were about, but obviously not. So I did a few donuts on the grass behind the cars (I see I wasn't the only one!!) and buggered off

Bumping an old thread, I've found one of the 14" steel rims!

In a car of a similar age to yours Ali, D reg. I'd never looked under the boot carpet until I came to break it up! It was my parents car for years, until it was stood up with a dodgy rear wheel bearing and with the onset of a newer 360.
I'd guess it was a short run, as I say, up to a certain age they came with the Mk3 style alloy in the boot, then they got tight and only but a black steel rim in there. I'm guessing it's in the very early Mk3 stage on a D late that this is where they put these 14" silver steels in, then went with the alloys for a while.
Anyone interested in it to try making a set up? As Steve says, I reckon they'd look good on a car.

Polish the rims, body colour the centres. Who's gonna do it then?
