I've owned 3 300s at seperate times, covering a period of about 18 month in total. Probably done around 10k miles I guess, with about 500 of those being competitive miles

Well we've had GL 10 years and something like ~100 000km but I haven't driven those by my self.. My father has.
I've had GLT for about two years and I've driven it only a bit over ~10 000km. Not much driving done in a first year. Most of those I've drove later. Well actually I wouldn't need a car for daily transportation use because I live near downtown so that explains the low milages.

Sometimes I think I like the building and fixing part more than the driving it self..

Passed my test in a 240 estate - the test examiner was a humorless bastard and really wanted to fail me because I looked like a crusty at the time - but just didn't have the excuse...
First car was a mk3 360GLT 3 dr - ran for about 2 years during which I did about 20000 miles and had it written off TWICE. First time by a hit and run lorry, second time hit while parked. Still drove ok until the MOT was spent.
Second 360GLT mk3 5 dr - also in silver, lasted about 3 years - probably did about 30000 miles, can't really remember. Lots of runs between London and scotland.
Current 360GLT mk2 3dr has only done about 4000 miles in 6 months or so.
What's that - 54000 miles over 5 and a half years? ish

Right, well so far Gemma has owned 300's the longest, I've driven the furthest in them and Vicky has done the greatest mileage per year.

Your or car ?
I believe that in Finland it is not common to give name to car, but in UK I have read it is very common, also over 50% of residents in UK thinks that car has feelings and it is not uncommon at all to talk to car either. Well, this was some silly gallup and I really don't remember exact numbers.
It feels huge difference in our cultures as if I would be talking to my car I would be in mental tests in no time. So beware if you come to visit in here
Well, I think that ppl are more open minded in here than 20 years ago, but still I find that here is some of these annoyances, missing of understanding different mostly I would say.
