You mean paraffin? Blimey, hadn't heard of that one. Sounds like fun though, I'll bet there'd be loads of smoke on startup. You used to be able to put Redex down the plug holes, (and that really did smoke the neighbours out when that first started!:))but they don't seem to make it anymore, the only Redex I could find was the injector cleaner which isn't the same thing.

LOL, ok Mick, I'll let ya off. In my original post I also mentioned how hard are you actually driving the car, as no matter how hard I try, the heavy right foot produces low mpg figures? I'd say as it's only done 400 miles recently, Andy is right about it needing to be used to clean it up a bit. His red GLT has now done quite a few miles and is gradually getting better.

Really? I carry a can of the stuff in the boot, but I don't use it much. I haven't looked for a new one for ages. Eek!

Maybe it is called paraffin, liquid stuff, some old Saabs in here had dual fuel, gasoline and this maybe paraffin, we call it petrooli or valopetrooli(this is stuff put to lamps). I guess it is this stuff http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paraffin_oil

Method is to put it into engine from spark plug hole, not much, maybe amount equal two big spoons and let it be for few hours or overnight, it will make pistong rings free again as this stuff is going to smalles hole and space, making all old oil that has burned in to soft and when you start engine it will be clean again.

Parafin oil is indeed used for oils. Not sure if it's the same thing as the Sabbs, but some old petrol tractors used to be duel fuel usuing TVO. Not sure if it's the same as parrafin or not... Come to think of it I thought Kerrosene was the same as TVO. Hmm, they're all hydrocarbons off differing length

EDIT: Wiki rules TVO "Tractor vaporising oil is an internal combustion engine fuel produced from paraffin (kerosene) that was commonly used after the Second World War for tractors in the UK and Australia until diesel engines became commonplace. In Australian English it was known as power kerosene."

They paraffin and kerosene appear to be the same, but "the manufacture of paraffin involves the removal of aromatic hydrocarbons" and some of these are added back to create TVO

Going by what I know of Nick's driving, his right foot is as heavy as mine Mate, have you sorted that dizzy yet? The one on Fake is screwed, and I just got 80miles out of £15. Not chuffed. New cap and arm are only gonna cost you a tank full.

Me? Heavy right foot? Nowhere near as bad as some people I know....

Changed the Dizzy cap and rotor arm on Friday, and it seems to have made quite a difference to the performance, although I've not yet driven far enough to see what it does to economy.
