Well.. for some momments I have thinck that I'll kill my mechanic... But yes, he have spin the plate.

I've told him to cut one more coil... It will be like cutting the blue bit on your picture.

Let's see what is the result.

About the dropping with only half a coil cutted, you can see in this pictures:

Thanks for the photos!

Your's must be really stiff... the tyre is so close to the car that it's almost unbelivible ( don't know how to wright that) that it don't touch's it when cornerig hard or passing in road depressures!

If I go to lower that much in the back I need to change the end of the exhaust before the pipe...

I think you need to shorten dampers if you cut two coils, otherwise spring is not compressed when suspension goes up and that is very bad thing.

From my experience on track suspension moves lot more than in any bumps on road, I have bottomed out front several times on track. Those bump stops ,that are these rubber things installed to shaft of shock, have actually quite important mission, I had one missing and then I decided to loose another too when I did change shocks, problem is that it allows now more roll and therefore lot less grip to inside rear.

Outer side is often bottomed when I corner on track and inside is very extended, near or same as when you lift car up.

Usually softer suspension gives you more grip and stiffer more control, it is always question of balancing these two. You could try to get mk2 escort springs to front, I have heard those are cheap and also that there is lot to choose from, but I have not tested if they fit, only some ppl say they are using them at front.

Anyway you should always have spring bit compressed, even when car is lifted, here car will fail mot if it is not and there I even agree.

I'm pretty sure if I would drive Ali's car on track here it would need some serious arch work afterwards ;) No, you don't like to give me a test drive

The front is done.

I almost can't take it out of my mechanics house.

Later I'll do the back and then take some photos with better quality.

This is with one and an half coil cutted, and 175/70 R 13 tires...

I haven't driven it yet, just my project partner, and he says that now it is stiffer.. Good :)
