740 turbo estate. the early ones, some odd reason, 1985-era estates half a second 0-60 quicker than the saloon ones.....

Yes and yes. I had two of that vintage, one a manwell, and one a waft-o-matic, both with B200E and fairly underpowered in my book, tho best sampled as waft-o-matic motorway barge. the B200 seem to be the most common, I could never seem to find a 2.3 or the 760 V6 (best avoided from what I've heard)
Never had any issues with the injection systems on mine tho (but I did manage to crack the inlet manifold - gawd knows how....)

p.p.s. I WILL own that 242GT one day - then I'll spend the rest of my life trying to track down parts for it!

FWIW I have an 850, and it's about 10x more comfortable than the 340. That's 10dB, if comfort is a power. I also sold the dog gaurd it came with for £100

Erm, yes. But not MAJOR bother. Just things that go on a car when it's 15 years old. In the 2 years I've had it, I've had new brakes all round, a new clutch, and a new exhaust. (which altogether, cost more than what I paid for the car! But you can't put a price on having brakes which stop you properly in an emergency) Apart from that, it's absolutely great. Pretty confident in it's abilities to keep running for a good few more years. If you can get one which has had those kind of major jobs done I think it's well worth it. It is basically a luxury car after all, and you can pick a nice one up for a few hundred pounds. They handle pretty well, it's strange going back to it having not driven it for a few months, from a stock 340, with its power steering etc!

yes, it's a 242 turbo! he's been very busy with it, but i don't know if he sells it at current speclist or with the upgraded parts..
