On a more serious note there are often wittor tow bars on ebay. From some points of veiw it would be better to get a new one that way you can paint it up and protect it from corrosion.

David, yep the one I've got mounts through the floor with two bigish plates to carry the load. I dragged a hooooge great trailer with it once loaded with MDF, certainly not light, so it'll take that sort of weight easilt.
One another note, Steve P has seen the shockingly lightweight and scaryily mounted towbar on the diesel, I don't think I'd stand on it tbh, let alone tow anything!
