congratulations ,you are now a free man.
It must be great to loose those chains of having to ask people for lifts everywhere and depending on the transport system
(specially in Sarf Lundun lol ),
get your celebrating

out of the way coz it all stops once your behind the wheel .
Not being a killjoy but its a damn sight easier to lose your licence than it was to get it .
Whats this about getting your dad to buy you a 360 ,
get off your arse and buy your own car , you will appreciate it more if you have to work and pay for it yourself .
( christ I'm beginning to sound like an oldMACfart lol )

agreed, maybe it's because the practise test requires skill, while the theory test only requires a portion of knowledge with a bit of commonsense.
luckily the test went very well, the examinor gave me a small street to drive to, (i was allowed to use the navigation system, because the town where the exam was is not my home town)
and ofcourse the navigation screwed up!!

I'm certain the road he picked was selected for that purpose
i was sent by the town's ring road, and instructed to go left at a spot where there was only a sand wall and some bushes to drive into
I stopped and found the right way to the destination on the map. a bit further was a viaduct that i had to cross to get to the other side of the sand wall.
from then on the examinor told me where to drive, in the meantime paying extra attention on my driving style. (required at exam = very defensive!)
Finally I had to present a map of my home town and indicate where certain points of interest (hospital, elderly residence, library, etc) are situated, point out some major roads on the map and tell the examinor how to drive from one point to another without tracint the route on the map.
as we had practised most point prior to the exam it all went smoothly.
sadly one of my collegues got stuck up in the navigation as well. he made a mistake in looking up the right street on the map and got totally lost as a consequence... failed!

well im still owed for my 18th AND 19th birthdays and thats why im not getting off my arse to buy it myself (also i dont have a job atm but hopefully soon) - so we'll see what happens.
i told my uncle that i wanted a 360 and he says £1200 for insurance is a lot to pay for a car that costs £200. he was telling me to go for something small with a small engine because it would be easier for me to get around in for the time being and it would be cheap to run, and then after a year or two i could change car - but i wasnt having none of it...
still gota chat to my dad about getting a car. if he says no then i'll most likely be insured on mums punto (bloody 1.2) or if he doesnt like the idea of the volvo, then i might be able to persuade him to buy me a civic eg or ek (which ive always wanted - no im not a chav and its not gona be 'riced').
just have to wait a while and see what happens.
