I know the rear wheel bearings are the same for the volvo 66, 343, 340 and 360

volvo OEM were SKF bearings (bit of history there too!) and are still available from SKF. fortunately, there arent complex bearings with carriers etc so aftermarket versions arent difficult to source.

the hassle with all this is that whilst you can get parts, its not so easy as calling volvo and the part coming the next day

companies like nordic are picking up the baton for after-volvo parts and genunine classic parts (volvo has a holding is this company and helped set it up, still works closely with etc before ford bought volvo in 1999) also supply

however, just as when this website was started, the 2,7,9 and 8s plus 120, 1800,140s etc all have good support, the 300 series doesnt have such a following so less swedish companies etc supply parts.

as discussed before, this website is a good place for posting alternative part and their supply

just need to get an advert in every dealer so we really get noticed!!

Yay... add 1.7 top and bottom hoses to the list. Both of mine have now gone pop in 3 weeks, still, at least its getting regular flushes and antifreeze changes...

Found a place in Soton that seems to make custom hoses, so gonna take my old ones in later

Funny you should resurrect this thread today Chris, only this morning I was back at the Volvo parts desk. Water pumps are indeed, no more.

Still available however was the original door key (only the simple model, not the one with the built-in light) and alloy wheel nuts, which I'm picking up on Monday ...

Makkiver confirmed that a water pump from a bigger Volvo with redblock engine will fit, even if the viscous fan is used. He's had two engines with a pump from a bigger Volvo and no electric fan. Of course the 300-series viscous must be used. So there's no problem with that..

And if you use a pump from a bigger Volvo, make sure that you get the right one because B19/B21/B23-series has a different pump than B200/B230-series.

(Water passages are in different places)

Well, going by the part number I've got the wrong one (B19) fitted in my B200F. No wonder it overheats ...

Now all I need to decide is whether to get an aftermarket B200 one from QH or SKF (around 65 Euros) or an OEM one for a B230 (95 Euros) ...

I suppose using a 2/7/900 series one would work...although it reduces clearance for an e-fan even more!

Hmm, that might be an issue as I'd like to fit air conditioning at some point. There's probably little enough space as it is, with the condensor in place, even with the slimmer radiator fitted ...

Well the condenser goes in front of the radiator...but...you need a more powerful fan to cope with the extra heat! The only unit I found which would flow enough air and be thin enough to fit (with a 360 WP) was a Kenlowe unit at £125

...that's just the fan...not a 'kit'...!

The green book says the original air con systems weren't fitted with the extra fan and recommend retro-fitting ones due to temperature problems.

Did you have problems mounting it, if it didn't come as a kit? According to the book it should come with mounting brackets to fit it to the condensor, a thermal switch, relay (with bracket) and fuse ...
