Hey Chris, you don't know what engine he has do you - Tdi, Td5 or one of the older ones?

I've heard conflicting things about veg oil in Landys, but it sounds a great idea :)

Erm, old one ;) Pre turbo, it's a S2. As it happens, he threw the keys at me todya, and I got to play with it for an hour or so... ffs those things are scary! Someone forgot to fit them with brakes! Awesome fun down lanes though.

Erm... I have a new daily driver too

The red GLT needs new front struts and I don't want to drive it anymore when the weather is bad (rust), it becomes now a collection car.

Sooo I bought another Volvo (first time that I buy something different from a 340 or 360  ): 2002, 3 doors, 2.0 low pressure turbo engine boosted to more than 200 hp (RICA ecu upgrade) and running on LPG (LPI Vialle system, I love it)

It's a...... C70 coupé, yes :D

positve points:

very fast car
NO noise on board
very economical, modern LPI system
incredible good dolby prologic audio system

negative points:

turning circle is AWFUL
lowered sport chassis sometimes very uncomfortable
no moving backseat to extend the boot space

The C30 was a test car that I got from Volvo. Personally I will never buy a diesel cause I hate them

Yes, it's very easy to get gas and I really don't understand why (in Belgium for example) it hasn't more success! (I think it's different in the Netherlands, much more cars have LPG there)

It's very cheap, you don't lose any performance of the car with modern systems as the LPI, it's safe, it's a good alternative for fuel, what do you want more? Ok it's expensive to install if you buy it new, it's the only point. For the rest, I really love that LPI! Here is an interesting link: http://www.vialle.nl/bedrijfsprofiel/al ... e.html?L=1

The 97-02 C70 Coupé (Type N) is my favourite FWD Volvo. Nice buy!

Tom

PS Did anyone see the 1997 Film"The Saint" with Val Kilmer (not Roger Moore)? There's one in that ...

I guess it is not that shameful to own shitty FWD now as there are some others too sm36

C70 is indeed least ugly from FWD Volvos, but it must be quite shock to park it until one gets used to turning radius.

My daily runner is lot smaller than previous 240, but still I find reversing and trying again with parking, they just did forgot to install turning front wheels in factory, perhaps we should inform them from this little problem sm14

It is soon difficult to find good 300 from market as parts are cut out and cars with low mileage and usage will be sent to wreckers or put into barn as 'normal' people see it only being transportation device that can't be serviced easily anymore.

It is good that there are not so expensive daily runners so we can keep putting money to our loved 300-series :)

Well, french reliability is starting to show.

It did loose over litre of oil in less than 900km, even it had lost only very very little in previous 5000km, also litre of coolant had disappeared somewhere.

Heater fan seem to be dead sometimes, it needs good 'tap' into centre console.

Oh yes and now it has started to mark it's parking spot too...

Don't know if I could say C70 being most beautiful FWD Volvo, there is still 480 Turbo, which is far better than most FWD cars in looks department ;)
