Sweet, might be cause i had the back lowered for a week along with the front right at an inch lower then 2 inches all round lol, so a gradual change.
Cheers for the comments guys.

Have to say I quite like the "matt-maroon" paint as well. It took years for that to mature into what it is today
It's the "signal red" --> "pink" tones which desperately need polishing every few years...
Also I like the idea of making all the chrome trim black. I tend to think the "all chrome" cars and the "all black" cars look good, not quite so keen on the style mix on my own GLi (black door trim but chrome windscreen & bumper surrounds).

Cheers, might leave the paint alone then and could have a sticker or some writing saying something along the lines of "20 years in the making" or "Just maturing" I dunno lol just ideas.

Ok quick update and no comments on how dirty its is

this is no weather to be getting wet in lol,
Anyways fitted the spoiler(thanks pettaw) and front glt skirts and also sorted a new exhaust and front bumper so its all slowly coming together, so here are some pics:
Items on my to do list are as follows:
Fit 5 speed box (thanks andy)
Sort out a few running problems,
Get a new clutch and fit it,
Finally when the weather gets warmer give the car a good clean and finish of my spraying including the much discussed S&H Stripe lol
Cheers Dan

Could be very wrong dan, but I recon as long as you dont go silver and black, you can have metal plates as long as the normal size restrictions are adhered to.
?
ready for someone to shoot me down there though.
Silver and black are def manufactured pre-71 only.

I like that and I'm no fan of Mk3's.
VnD's correct about the silver black plates altho' I'm not sure of the exact yr but your's is miles too young.

When i got replacements for the oxford it was manufactured pre 71 only for s and b.
But Ive seen 80s passats and even corrados with pressed steel white and blacks, yellow and blacks. costly though dude.
mine were 20 quid each, delivered.
Which is a lot.
