Claude wrote:Hi I'm new here and have never owned a Volvo, but always had a soft spot for the 360s. This ones very nice! Would it get through its next MOT? How bad is the rusty arch - gone all the way through? Does the GLS have carbs or injection? I'm only in NE London. Cheers Claude.
Again, thanks everyone for the kind words, I am a bit of a Volvo enthusiast amongst other marques and have about 8 Volvos at the moment, I can't use them all but I have three cars that need work and I really need the cash which is why I'm selling this and maybe more. The thing about this car is that it just feels so right, as soon as I saw it I had to have it! I bought it from a deseased estate and it had been kept garaged. If you look at the body there are a few touch ups but it is so lovely and original. Now it does have history although most of the receipts have been lost the service book is there and is recorded up to 1998 at 80000miles, the cambelt was changed at 72000. The last MOT was issued with advisories, here's the details:

Date of test: 22/02/2008
Certificate issued (Pass)
Odometer reading: 96,850 Miles
Test number: 480343158037
Test station name: PITLANE LTD
Test station number: 6766BQ
Test station telephone number: 01582593667
Test class: IV
Test expiry date: 21/02/2009
Advisory Notice issued
Slight corrosion on front ot rear and rear brake pipes
Slight corrosion on o/s outer sill

The mileage now is 97230.
The advisories were acted on on the 4th March 2008 and the off side sill, brake pipes and rear flexi brake hose were replaced and with this in mind I'm sure it'll pass the next MOT easily! The rust on the rear arches look to be entirely surface and should be an easy DIY fix. It is a real head turner and looks good close up too!

Torsten, d'you fancy a 740GL saloon auto? Towbar, long T&T, good solid car. I may need a new 300 now, and this one looks lovely.

A nice offer filthyjohn but I already have a 760 Turbo and a 740 GLE so a bit oversubscribed, great cars though!

No point in shouting for Thhhhpaaaaynetah to get it as he's only had his hairdressers car for a week or two - he'll need two months before he decides it's too slow/noisy/whatever and sells it.

Even if he did get this one it'd only survive for two months before he found something not right with it and offered it for sale again anyway.......

I think the general plan was for it to be stored in Lincoln while he gets his 'gay car' phase out of the way. In the meantime, I could be fitting the GLS with various pieces of awesomeness to keep simple Steve entertained...

cheers

 I wasn't actually looking at this car (there's a nice GLEi saloon for sale as well)

The rust spots on the door and arches put me off for the money, I'm afraid :( The front valance looks like it has also been painted black all round for about 1".

I am looking for offers on this car, I know it has faults but they are superficial and the car is honest, I also would prefer an enthusiast gets it rather than just bunging it on ebay with no reserve and be forced to sell to a muppet. As far as I'm concerned there is nothing to hide and if anyone needs clearer photos please just ask, or come and look, the car is stunning with the patina of having nearly 100k on it. In no way am I saying that it has never had work on it, finding a 300 that does not need or has never had work on the valance is a rarity but here's some close ups for you:
