Do you remember Aymat's post a few months back about a GLT on Ebay where someone wrote "you can strip it, and kill it, and it's fun?" He got soooooooooo worked up ...
I agree... Tom.. it may only be a Mk3, but what if it has an Auto-Reverse cassette deck
I also agree that in no way are we to put up or shut up and the car in question is modified in a way that is a pretty pointless, but it's hardly a rare car. We hardly want to be giving off the impression that we're a bunch of beardies, that's what the VOC is for (only joking!)
It would be fun to drive a Marina-I quite like the way they look tbh very 70s

.
back of the torsion bars, at the chassis end theres a lever with a bolt through it, which is like a trimmer for the torsion bars to set/equalise the ride height.
There is usually about ¾” available to lower the ride height.
For more lowerz, hop on the classic Beetle train. You can move the lower suspension arm round on the torsion bar, this will give a drop of about 2” per spline.
I use Google like a deadly deadly ninja.
Homework has been done and noted.

Whichever way you look at it that would be better sent to China and returning as several woks.
We've got one for cooking, and one for ironing my shirts on. Dont need any more.
A marina would make a cool slow n low daily driver (says i, having never driven one.)
its period coolness just calls out to me.
historically, even if theyre terrible, i think its worth a save.

For the life of me I can't understand why anyone thought it was a good idea to swap the carb with a Ford one. Apart from missing a choke, I can only imagine there's one 'sweet spot' where it supposedly all comes together but I bet any money it runs awful at any other speed.

I think also V3M has been a place for discussions but not really for outright disagreements. We don't want this place turning into RR now
Hmmm....
Looking back, it looks like I'm saying you shouldn't be allowed to disagree. I meant everyone is allowed to say what they wish, just some people clash with arguments badly.

Because the 2.0 makes more power than the 1.4, so obviously fitting the carb from the 2.0 will make it a million mile an hour car... der!
