It' doesn't look mint but not bad for a 28 year old car thats probably been used as an every day car and served it's owner(s) well. I'm sure there will may some rust issues underneath, as always, but looks like a nice project for somebody! Someone save it quick

That 123 does look pretty cool though

Estate will be better for your drive too I'd have thought but useless when you find the fun lanes

Forget the W123 unless its a 230 petrol or (prefferably) the 280.

70bhp and a 4spd box is not going to make that fun to drive. We all slag off 340 1.4's for being slow, but they're positively rocketships compared to 240TD's. They'll also do about the same to the gallon as the Merc too! I admit they haven't got the 'hewn from granite' feel of the W123, nor are they quite as practical, but for the love of Christ don't buy an old Merc diesel if you like driving.
