Good stuff! The gasket kit from mac is fantastic. Had a similar experience with the posty too, no rev counter

No £25 back. Good ol' snail mail! Hope yours is ok! Why'd you go for 700 series seats?

Because they make a 300 series seat feel like a prison bench

They are, especially mine (I'm still convinced they've fixed an old back problem) but 7/900 seats are proper lush.

Thanks for all the replies,
Gasket kit arrived today, really pleased. Thats the good news...
...The bad news is that the volvo I was gonna get the seats out of sold a few hours before I went to collect the seats

guy from holland bourt it for...guess what...the leather seats

really ruined my day like. I just went for the 700 as me dad seen it for sale at a local garage. The bloke at said garage says he'll give me a ring next time they get a volvo in so you never know.
Also, my dash hasn't arrived. Been up the sorting office to check incase I missed the card they put through if you aren't in. He reckoned I should have received it by now
Wheel bearing might get ordered soon and ill get everything fitted at the same time, hopefully before my holiday to keilder on the 27th.

Unless it's been tried and tested i wouldn't be suprised if 700 seats wouldn't fit.
I fitted a pair of leather front seats from a 480GT, i welded a very low frame, like 1/2" or so, but they sat far too high. Felt like sitting in a truck, i never even drove it with them, just ripped them out and put the stocks back in again.
I've got an old pair of Recaro's in the loft which might find their way in the car at some point though.

Well looked like I was gonna be the one to try and test them. With 300s the seats eaised from the floor bout 6. But they could be modified to drop it lower. From what I could tell of looking at the two cars the fronts looked spot on maybe upto an inch higher.
Anyway will be a long time before I find more volvo leather for 30 quid a cars worth
Recaros

try em!!

Seriously? 700/900 seats aren't that good (unless you're talking about 960 seats which are different again). Over the 'normal' 700/900 seats I'd say a 300 seat is more comfortable. Plus the last thing you'd want to do is sit any higher than standard.

Id say 740 chairs are on a par with 300s. But theres more lounging space, so they feel a bbit more comfy in a 740.

Last night i replaced the diff cover gasket (supplied by Mac). All went well, shit loads of WD-40 and cleaning the screw heads out before getting the allen key in. Only problem came when taking the filler plug out as it was rusted solid. Managed it eventually and then was a hastle filling it with oil solved with the use of a piece of hose pipe.
The gasket kit from Mac is awesome! really good value for money!
Next comes gearbox oil, engine oil and coolant
Wheel bearing is en-route, to hopefully be fitted friday
Also got some black spray paint for the headlight bowls
I'll get some pics up tomorrow

nah not yet, am rather unhappy at them, will give it a couple more days just to be sure. I'm sure it will be there fault not yours as i'v bourght stuff off you before, but just to be sure i might be asking for proof of postage haha

As i say i'll wait a few days just to see.
Anyhow, Today i had a mission up to the not so far away VND land (in the passenger seat of a FWD peugeot :/ ) to pick up ...
Wasted no time tightening the bolts on the way back to my car then jumped straight in and fitted it. Still need to modify the volvo horn ring a touch, then i have a centre from a different wheel that fits (no pics sorry) that i will stick a horn switch in. Feels class the wheel, looks the part too, que photoshoot th'morra
Big thanks to VND! he gave me V3M stickers too
And look what came the other day
Getting the car sorted slowly

Thanks for looking,
Matt

YEAH! I've got that wheel. (Also off VND, he must be growing them). They have a nice hold and give lots of feedback. Also seem to give plenty of grip when I fumble for the wheel getting it sideways
