started today by finishing the undersealing, the front wheel arches

I then coated the inner chassis with waxoyl (note to self dont ever use brush on underseal again not when you can spray it on.....
also warm up the waxoyl before use)

As my time was nearly up by this point i had a little play in contouring the window frame to start to get the right shape, it is coming on slowly.

Once home i decided to tap the holes in the alternators where the paint had got in to.

Still need to connect the electrics, not soldered them yet.

I have been looking at adding the timer light relay when the doors open, i have the socket from the other loom which i have traced all the wires, just need to splice it in to my loom

Hello all, been a little ill as of late so only managed to feel well enough to do something today.

so to start i decided that as it was wet i would make the propshaft and bell housing look better,sanded them off and coated in etch primer
before cleaning

while these were drying i finished off the alternators, the electrical connections needed soldered, but all 3 are now finished

As i had the soldering iron out i proceeded to remove the relay socket from the old spare damaged loom and splice this in to mine.

I have taken detailed photos of this should anyone else want to put a time delay on to the interior light

First trace the green/yellow wire from the light under the steering wheel to the end

from this same end trace the pink wire up the loom until both the green/yellow and the pink wires run along side each other

also find an earth to use, i used am earth the had a crimp on it but any earth will work

any 4 pined relay will work, the wiring is as follows, the pink wire is a +ve feed, the green/yellow is the earth wire when the door is opened, the red wire from the socket goes to the light and the brown is the earth for the light through the realy. (it is red if you have the relay socket already there or green/yellow if you do not this wire goes to the light under the steering wheel)

splice in the pink wire (the colour on the socket will depend on the socket you buy, but as above the pink is +ve feed)

next cut the green/yellow wire, then splice to each end the switched pins in the relay

then connect up the earth, in my case the brown wire, I used the volvo socket from a damaged loom, but i had to re-pin the socket to match my after market relay, as that has not arrived yet i left the green link wire in place

Somebody in the past joined the hazard switch wires via crimps, dont know the reason behind this, but as i had the damaged loom i cut off the switch and replaced the crimps

so now all the wiring was done, the etch primer had dried, so moved on the paint

however it made a bad bearing noise, so yes i took it apart and ordered a new bearing

Hello all just a small update, yesterday i ordered a new bearing it must have been late afternoon, and free postage it arrived first things today, it came from a company called "simply bearing" i can not fault them at all.

I have also got hold of 3 chrome straps that push in to the windscreen rubber, sadly it is 3 of the top section.
So does anyone have a bottom chrome section we can swap one, or does anyone need a top piece?

Alternators look amazing! Good progress!

Good day all, today i hung the rear doors because I was worried about the corner fowling the sill as it did when i had a little try the other day, however i was very happy to see that they fitted really well. so i then moved on to hanging the front doors (all the doors but the passenger front doors were old ones new ones to go on) then the issue showed itself, where i fixed the gutter it was not straight and was catching the door and the corner was catching the sill.

and the shut gap was good all the way around

cut out the side above the gutter to reveal the the repair that i did

ground the welds off and freed the gutter which i then re-positioned it so the gap was consistent all the way around

then i refitted the rear door and the gap is good

refitted the front door and with a gentle massage the sill was moved so the corner does not catch the corner anymore

I did paint it, but used eastwood rust encapsulator instead, and the silver is weld through primer

started by putting some filler over the repair of yesterday on the A-piller, then moved to wire brushing the holes where the boot hinges attach.

while the boot was off i found a little rust.... the welder came out (in the voice of a jedi.."this is not a welder you see") there was a little rust hole around the mounting point for the boot
