Anyone want to be my friend?

Redline, cornholio?
You should be fine. Drop down the M1, then come off at J24, following the signs for the airport. Drive past the airport and before you know where you are you're at Donington Park.

As James will be going past the end of my road (A52, well sort of) I was going to ask if I could join his convoy. But then again, I don't know if I'd be able to keep up

Here's that map again. Those coming from J28 will want to join the A453 off the M1, but NOT A453 to Nottingham. Keep going round the island and take A453 to East Midlands Airport and Donington Park.

Hopefully well before 11, unless you plan to dodder up the M1 at 40mph!

Cruising at a sensible 80mph you should do it in about an hour.

80 in Tulip on the motorway gives me about 19mpg!! Not bad for a B200e auto estate, I really need to swap the engine trans and rear axel :P

Rupert where are you leaving from???

Err, various minor roads to the A6, then A38/A61/A52/A511 (Derby ring road) then the A50 and off and up through Castle Donnington village.

Alternatively we could all arrange to meet up at Donnington Services at 10.50 and travel in convoy to the circuit??
