What you need to do Ben is find out who the Volvo 340 owning old ladies are in the locality and befriend them.

I said a grand easily but in the current climate he should be happy with £800. Do you think this is fair?

Me too.
Id have paid 500 for it happily.
But
A) getting there and back wouldve been a bit of a 800 miler.
B) no £500.
Hope the new owner swings our way. As it were.

One for more sensible money...
Minor hurdle of soon to be annual NCT for cars over ten and the tax position for the next three years of around €350.
Anyone wanna buy a Citroen GS?

Nah, best not. Next week a diesel one might turn up and it's only CVTs and RHD diesels that give me wood.

Looks a honey and pretty decently priced if it's as clean as it appears

The last 340 looks great

Pretty tidy looking and a great colour
However, the earlier 340 with 28k looks a bit scruffy to me, with the front valance - not as mint as described I thinks

Worth a look if it's that close! If it's just the front valance then fair enough, but I'd be checking over the rest of it thoroughly. My view is that if it can rust that bad there, then it can in all the other common places too
