Is the one way valve the white bit near to where the hose goes into the cabin?

i've fitted it and it sits, at idle, right on the left hand side. getting it to the right is hard. it also buzzes when it's stationary. does the needle slow down when a fuel filter is added? and does it stop buzzing?

the fuel filter will stop the buzzing, and slow the needle down a *tiny* bit..

i poked the original filter into the hose and it has ceased to buzz. did they move that quickly originally?

UPDATE! Econometer fixing the non-Ug way!

Remove needle and face, then submerge in white spirit overnight. In the morning, the white spirit looks like bog water, and you have a working econometer! Or more to the point, Mick does...

cheers

fitted my econometer :D , much easier than I thought , just got to get a t piece for the other end of the hose and work out which hose to cut.

HOWEVER  I did make the very basic but often overlooked mistake of swapping the electrical plugs on the back of the dash over  , this was spotted when I switched the ignition on and saw smoke coming from the back of the dash sm2 , I will have to replace the dash as part of the blue circuit board melted and now when I put the lights on the ambient temp gauge drops to -40 and the right hand indicator , high beam and heated rear window warning lights come on sm14

DOH! sm43 Unlucky mate, if only I wasn't up in London all week, or you could call over and get the new cluster. Evenings are difficult for you, but we'll sort it out! Simple mistake, but it can be a costly one. I've always worried about swapping them on refitting, so make sure they're not going to move and cross over, or a bit of masking tape with a marking on it to correspond with the other connection, a bit OTT, but better safe than sorry.
