I was actually meaning Steve's would be too bassy Fogs, if he's pushing higher SPL than you, I know he doesn't have the mid/treble set up to match it. Unless he has a sneaky plan that he hasn't told me!
Mmmmmmm, V12 goodness. I hate to say it... but I'm almost glad the CD player went, I would have taken ages to get in gear to get an amp. CD player and amp would have been nice though. I'm in the middle of a sneaky uprating of my fronts atm.
I really want to uprate my fronts, but I have the distinct handicap of having manually wound windows, and therefore no room to put anything bigger than 4"ers in their anyone any ideas?
Various people do 4" components. From there, I'd put some larger drivers in the footwells too - near the standard mounting in there. I bought some nice 8" drivers, but they're far too big. 6"s would fit nicely.
Yep indeed.. earlier 300s had speakers down there instead of in the doors.. our 1982 cars had speakers in the kick panels, strangely my dads car only ever had one speaker!?!

Cool. In seven years of driving a 340 I've never noticed those.
I don't know where to start with in-car loudspeakers. Can anyone please recommend a good pair of 4"s for the front doors and 6x4"s for the footwells? I don't want to attach speakers to the parcel shelf. Ideally, the door speakers should fit under the existing covers.
They'll probably run off a Blaupunkt HU. I'm not after high SPLs or huge bass, but would like to improve on the original equipment. Any advice would be very gratefully received.
