I find this so odd....I've never seen a 86+ (facelift) GLT of any age that doesn't have electric mirrors. As far as I was aware anything with injection added front fogs and leccy mirrors. Of course I'm not suggesting that I'm right....but I've seen a fair few GLTs, and they've all been as mentioned. How odd...

I could do with finding a mirrored-up 300 in the scrappers soonish, as I need the wiring looms!

cheers

James, I find it very odd too, as I would've thought like you anything after 86 had electric mirrors as well as the electric windows and fogs etc. Like I say though, 4 out of 8 360 GLT's after '86 we've had have had electric mirrors! Very odd, just out of interest here are the options from 1988 and 1989 showing a E for electric mirrors! Only a couple of small changes in spec! Pete

haha.. in that case I'd rather not know.. :P

Damn, if mine was only a few months newer it would've had the electric mirrors, are they heated as well?

I'm not sure if my heated mirrors work or if they were ever heated! I'm not even going to try and look inside, it would be nice if they worked though!

I think that being heated is the most important part - removing condensation/ice etc. Adjustment is less important, I don't know about anyone else but I only ever adjust the mirrors once, unless they get knocked which is rare. Saying that.. I still would rather have them!

Heated ones have 5 wires, non-heated have 3. I've not seen non-heated ones in the flesh, but Haynes seems to think not all were heated.

It's quite handy tilting the mirror down when precision parking.....if you're lazy :) Or a woman...teehee....

Don't take the mick out of mirror tilted parking ;). Kar had leccy mirrors and windows out the box, Fake Kar didn't though, just to add to confusion!

Kar was late though. Late cars got all the toys. I took some bits off a very rusty J plate supposedly-ghetto-spec '340' (yup...damn, even the newest ones are rusty), including electric mirrors. Messed up...

Dash is 'NO - DENIED! STOP BEING SO STINGEY!'
White circle is 'Pay to play'
Black is 'Standard, sir'

I guess the first owned wanted a life of broken mechanisms and rusty panels for the subsequent owners :) Or do you have the (perferable!) glass one?

cheers
