Forgot to say a few things i need for the car are.
A set of door and boot locks with keys
the bit between the carb and air cleaner (Some kind of 90 degree bend?)
Volvo badge for the front and rear
front and rear screens
I think that is it, if anyone has these things that the want to sell on then let me know.
Also dose anyone know of any problems with running a 1988 carb on the 78 1.4 in the car.

i'm doing the same right now in my Black Beauty, although I have to admit the engine block and cilinder head are of the same "vintage"..
I do not expect major trouble, later type carburettors are known for lower fuel consumption at similar power output.

I will be able to supply a lock set before too long, but bear in mind that early cars (pre 85?) have a smaller door key than later cars, which use a 'full size' door key.
I'd be interested in taking a look at the cars next time I'm over that way, at least.
cheers

I will try to find out some more details on the cars for you.
As far as the locks go as long as they fit in the doors that is ok as i just want to be able to lock the car when it is done as i have no door key at all

.

funny I almost ran into the back of your black beauty in my daf 55 on the monday of daf week, then dafdaffer shot past both of us on the oposite side of the road in his green 44

.
Then we find a car almost the same car in a scrap yard 2 weeks later
Maybe next daf week there will be 2 black beauty 343's.

I know it sounds silly but...
...have you tried Volvo? I ordered a key for mine based only on the chassis no. about 6 months ago. OK, that was for an '88 model, but who knows?

Excellent!
Haha...I just posted about getting a second version without the music, and now I see why

Are any of the bits salvagable? I'm curious to see what my car sounds like from the outside...
cheers
