Really? Didn't know that :-o

UK GLTs were extremely well-equipped, late models having sunroof, power steering and electric mirrors as standard. I think the econometer, alarm (original Volvo?) and the body kit may be the only additional accessories on that one, the rest sounds great for us Europeans but appears to be standard late-GLT stuff for the UK ...

Hm, what else could it have worth mentioning ... sm14 Cavity covers in the boot? Volvo floor trays?

Over here they call a dashboard with all the gauges a GLT-dashboard
A GLE was has more standard:
- all the GLT stuff, excepted the speciaal interior.
- electric windows
- central locking

power sterring is over here very rare! electric mirrors also..

I think, if this car was for sale in the Netherlands, for this price with alle these extra's... It was allready sold :)

Take a look at this one:
http://link.marktplaats.nl/222938386

750 euro.. and nothing special on it. Only centrale locking and heated seats..
And there is also some rust on it...

In the UK the prices for nice 360's are much better! And the 360 are also much nicer..

Yes, I'd noticed that in the past :-) "GLT Klokkenset" sounds kind of cool, better that "6-dial dash" anyway ;-)

Same in Germany, a GLE was an injected B200E(EA / F) saloon, trimmed for comfort - standard ride height and more equipment than a GLT: plush seats, central locking and heated seats. No e/windows though ...

Very true! And the equipment levels put tears in your eyes. Also the sheer number of registered 300s means there's always a nice one popping up somewhere. Try and find a good GLT in Germany, you're in for a very long wait ...

/\ So would I!
if I didnt already have a mint car.
And I had somewhere to put it,
And I had the money to pay for it,
etc, etc, etc.

Nobodys ignoring it, or turning their noses up at it.
And nobodys saying it isnt worth the asking price.
Its just times are tough at the minute.
Theres not too many people with 700 pounds spare round this time of year at the best of times eh?
Credit crunch is making sure everyones being a bit extra carefull too.

If youd pay the asking price for the bodykit, buy it. Shipping wouldnt be that high if you want it that badly. :?

I wouldn't be surprised if the S40 doesn't give you much more protection if you have a crash. Having said that, I fully understand your motivation in getting a more modern car...refinement being a big one for me. It's a shame you can't keep it as a 'fun' car.

It's really lovely...and the right buyer will come along and give you good money for it...but...it's a very bad time to be selling a car, sadly.

cheers

James

Ah dude, I'd hoped you were keeping it.

Did it go to a forum member?
if not, i hoped you pointed them in our direction.
Love to see more of the car!

I sold it to a mechanic in Birmingham. He wanted to restore it to a showcar. He mentioned fitting a turbo too. You might be seeing more of it.

I'm already on the lookout for my next toy. Maybe an MGB GT...

Good choice.
Good time to buy too.

Good luck with the hunt Giles. Hope you unearth a gem.
