Adam
Cheers Ad,
That was the plan to use the fuel pump relay to keep everything as "oem" as possible. I had just found that I had wired up the pumps the wrong way round so to speak (thinking there was a positive signal coming from the relay) so for the time being I just wired it to a switch.
Well guess what??? It didn't start! But no fear, I found myself a new wire diagram and stripped the loom back out and made a couple of changes. Also removed two more relays which I wasn't 100% sure about and found with the new simpler wire diagram it wasn't needed.
All I've got to do is fit the "new" loom and hopefully it'll fire right up!
One question though Adam - Oil pressure sensor light is a simple one, just fitted the Renault plug to the end of the Volvo sensor wire - But what about the coolant temperature? The ECU requires this info for warm up enrichment etc.
My question is- can this sensor be tapped into, to share the signal? On my S40 when fitting stand alone management I was unable to share the single sensor between both the stand alone and volvo ecu (the volvo ecu seemed to "scramble" the signal). Is this not the case? or is there another sensor that I'm able to utilise?

This May help.
On the R19 Thermostat houseing there is two senders. I fitted the volvo temp sender in the top and just plugged in the volvo loom without any mods. The one on the bottom left (white plug) goes to the ecu, But i cant remeber if the clio one is the same.
On the clio there's a second sender which is actually the rad fan switch (this is redundant as the volvo switch is in the rad). Fingers crossed the spare temp sensor I've got is the same thread. Cheers for the tip!
A 1.4 temp sender fits into the clio stat housing no probs, and works the gauge correctly. I'd like to see an R19 stat as my new engine is from one of those.

I just assumed everyone used these, how does the 1.7 one look?
Well I've been having some running issues with the engine - however I think I've diagnosed the problem now - hopefully be sorted soon!
Did a few things on saturday - only minor bits and bobs like fit the new gauge cluster with a set with a rev counter; fixed the indicator stalk bracket.... Oh and did this -
One
Two
DONE!
Incase you've not noticed I've fitted some new(ish) seats! They're from a Scoob WRX which I got off ebay for a reasonable £50 - picked up on saturday and they were in a few hours later!
That was the plan (to get the red and black scoob seats) to keep the colour theme going throughout the car. I was half tempted to put a red pinstripe on the grille a'la golf GTI but not sure if it'd look too OTT
