My first 345 I put on a cherry bomb at the back, ie 2 straight through silencers including the mid section, was pretty loud but just 'loud'. Used to enjoy scattering the drunkards on the main street comming home at 12:00 on Saturday night by applying 5000rpm in 2nd, was more fun than real power. A straight through on a 1.4 is a classic sound, only beaten by a Scubby IMO.

Occassionally with the odd broken down pipe I had to drive for a short period with virtually no exhaust, and 340 1.4s are really really loud without any damping atall. It is much louder than an exhaustless 360 or a 940 turbo for that matter (dissapointly so).

You really have no reasonable right to drive a 1.4 with no silencer atall, legal or not.

never even taped once,i guess your right if your on hard shocks its not a problem, also straightens out the standard spagetti one,and makes it sound amazing
