Yeh i'm hopin to be there! I have a couple of valets to do to pay for the trip so it should be fine. I have a few things i am willing to trade at the meet so all bring some nice goodies to trade also!!!

hi guys, am hoping to be there Sunday. still have nt done repairs to final drive yet. gonna be a mad rush tomorrow to fill garbox and final drive with oil and hope it doesn t all run out. It is definately the gasket. Anyone know what oil to fill it with and how much it costs.

Assuming manual gearbox, fill g/box with ATF, yes ATF, in a manual g/box, and fill the rear diff with hypoid gear oil (I think the grade is GL5 that you want, but check in the Haynes/factory manual)

The final drive / diff gaskets deserve 'famous' status for failing. I don't know many 300s that haven't been affected. Mine is certainly in need of a mop-up!

Certanily not allways the gaskets at fault.

I went to change the rear diff gasket once and it was only when i had the plate off in my hands did i notice the plate was rusting from the outside in. So a new plate was order and my car never got covered in oil again when following my mate.

Interesting...!

Mine seems to be leaking from the joint at the very bottom, so I've assumed it's the gasket, but we'll see!

been there, done that. New plate from Volvo is about 20 quid, and a new gasket a couple, no oily diff for me either.
