I'd be very surprised if they write it off... a friend at work got his ~£400 '96 Polo base spec 1.0 repaired after similar damage via insurance, and they didn't write it off...

Thats a nasty dent but should be repairable. Fair play to you for not droping the law onto her. I hope she realizes her good fortune.At least you got her detials.A couple of years ago,some b*****d ran into mine and drove on so i had to fix it myself.

Have to wait and see then.
If they wont write it off, I doubt she'd be up for paying 5-6 hundred for a propper repair.
So it might have to be a propper expensive repair.

Be a shame not to make a bit on the way through though.

Insurance for that may be more hassle than it's worth, do they still claim 300 book value is about 120quid? Doesn't matter how much your policy is for unless it's agreed value, they'll always pay the lower of what you quoted and book. If the lass is willing to pay for the bodyshop bill could possibly be your best option, luckily I've never been in that situation though so advice has no substance.

Backed up with photos and signed off at the start of the policy.

id just take it to a 4 body shop places for quotes (ive got about 10 within 5 miles of me =] ) and just hand her the most expensive 2, and pretend to 'be nice' and ask for the lower valued one thats what I did, worked a treat, made £400 from a motorbike hitting my tailgate on a £350 vw polo

No... and besides, if you show them the value of similar condition/spec cars on Autotrader/Car Ad websites they will actually listen as long as you're not taking the piss

Someone left a crease and a dent in the rear side panel of my 343 the other week, without owning up, ten days before I sorted a garage for it At least in your case you can replace the wing quite easily, and you know who did it, that's good news ...

The door stuff doesnt look too bad. Bumper rub more than anything. and i slight ripple. theres no full length 'fold', if that makes sense.

I would not pity her, she is clearly danger on roads and her license should be removed at once and never given back again.

What she hits next, child on sidewalk, then she panics and rams throttle hitting 10 more kid at park that is next to sidewalk?

I would make sure she would never get license again, just to ease my mind that at least I did try to make roads safer, if authorities do no agree and still over 10 kids die because of her, then I would not have pain thinking what if I would have done something.

I dont issue licenses dude. Somebody elses job to maintain a high level of driving compitence on the roads.
Some retard gave her a license, so shes another retard with a driving license.
